We are proud to be part of the re-opening of the Rotary Nature Center!
This month we will be offering new nature education programs with a special focus on Lake Merritt and the surrounding community. Taught by GGAS Youth Programs Manager, Clayton Anderson, these classes are designed for adults. No previous birding or wildlife experience necessary. Everyone is welcome.

CANCELLATION POLICY: As a small organization with limited office staff, it is challenging for us to handle last-minute cancellations. If you need to cancel, we will refund your registration fee if :(1) You withdraw more than two weeks before the start of the class, AND (2) We can fill your spot with someone from the class waiting list.
Please note that there will be a $5 cancellation fee to cover the credit card transaction costs for your sign-up and cancellation.
Nature Journaling in the Heart of Oakland (Spring)
Class will meet monthly for 4 months, March – June on these four Saturdays from 11am-1pm
(Mar 23, April 20, May 18, & June 22)
This course will offer myriad lessons, tips, and techniques for developing your own distinctive nature journal that will deepen your connection to Nature in Oakland’s heart. Taught by ecological educator and artist, Clayton Anderson, you’ll get good practice at journaling in-class and meet others as you learn to sketch and record field notes through two seasons of the year. You’ll discover how to tune into Nature and record what you discover in a journal that’s distinctly your own.
$75 for Golden Gate Audubon Members/Oakland Residents; $100 for others.
