Restore and maintain habitat for local and migratory birds, waterbirds and shorebirds —including the endangered Ridgway’s Rail —with Golden Gate Audubon Society.

Pier 94, San Francisco, March 6, 2021

Volunteers will help with a variety of activities at Pier 94 in southeast SF on the waterfront including planting native plants and removing invasive non-native plants along the Wetlands shoreline and Uplands. Volunteers should meet at path entry at far east end of gravel parking area off east side of Amador Way (behind Hanson Aggregates,  480 Amador Way. Follow chain link fence on south side of gravel area down to path entry. There should be a Port-a-Potty next to entry path. Park along chain link fence.

FULL-Golden Gate Park, North Lake, San Francisco, 10am-noon, March 27, 2021

In partnership with San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, volunteers support habitat for local and migrating birds at North Lake in Golden Gate Park. Remove invasive plants and maintain gardens. Long term goal is to add more local SF native plants that provide food and cover for the many birds at this site.

Registration before the event required.

Directions: Meet at restroom pavilion on JFK Drive near Chain of Lakes Drive.

Volunteers will help with a variety of activities at Pier 94 in southeast SF on the waterfront including planting native plants and removing invasive non-native plants along the Wetlands shoreline and Uplands. Volunteers should meet at path entry at far east end of gravel parking area off east side of Amador Way (behind Hanson Aggregates,  480 Amador Way). Follow chain link fence on south side of gravel area down to path entry. There should be a Port-a-Potty next to entry path. Park along chain link fence. Wear closed-toe shoes, bring and wear Covid mask. Bring your own gloves or we can provide gloves and glove liners.

Heron’s Head Park, San Francisco, 10am-noon, April 7, 2021

Volunteers will help with a variety of activities at Heron’s Head Park in southeast SF including removing invasive non-native plants along the Wetlands shoreline, picking up trash, and replanting native plants, maintaining native plant habitat. Volunteers should meet at the EcoCenter just beyond the parking lot. There is a bathroom in the EcoCenter.
