VALLE VISTA EBMUD WATERSHED
February 12 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Birding in the Moraga area on level trails and fire roads owned by East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD). This area features a variety of habitats: chaparral and scrub, grassland, pine-oak woodland, marsh, and the top of the reservoir. Likely birds include raptors, sparrows, California Thrasher, nuthatches, wrens, and the shy Wood Ducks. We will explore on hard-packed trails, with some gentle up and down hill. There is a pit toilet at the starting point, but no drinking water.
This trip is free but advance registration is required. No drop-ins, please. Registration will open two weeks in advance and will close Thursday, February 10 at 4 p.m. Directions for registered participants are listed below.
Please note the public health guidelines for this trip, as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic:
Trip is limited to 15 participants (plus the leaders). There will not be a waiting list.
Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately.
No “drop ins,” please. We’re trying to keep everyone safe with manageable group sizes!
We will adhere to any additional health guidelines from the county or venue.
Thank you for your flexibility in helping us ensure that everyone remains healthy! Because we have to limit the size of trips, please do not sign up unless you are committed to attending.
