Tilden Park Bird Walk
June 30 @ 8:00 am - 10:15 am
Let’s spend the last morning of June looking and listening for breeding birds in Tilden Park. We’ll do a fair amount of birding by ear (identifying birds by the sounds they make), especially since summer foliage often screens birds from view. Accordingly, we’ll try to keep fairly quiet.
Bring binoculars and dress/accessorize accordingly (water, head-covering, sunblock for sun and heat). If you don’t have a good pair of binoculars, please let trip leader David Robinson know in advance and he’ll bring extras. Bathrooms are located at our meeting site.
Birders of all skill levels (beginner to expert) are welcome. Children able to focus on birds and nature — and use their “indoor voices” — for an extended period are also welcome, if accompanied by an adult.
This trip is free but advance registration is required. The exact location and directions will be provided to registered participants. Registration will open on June 16 and close on Tuesday June 28 at 4 p.m. If you try to sign up before the opening date, you’ll get a message that registration is closed.
Leader: David Robinson, 213-924-1518 (cell); firstname.lastname@example.org
