Sibley Volcanic Regional Perserve (Oakland)

This will be a half day walk in a good variety of habitats: Baccharis chaparral, grassland, Monterey Pine and Eucalyptus woodland. This area has been historically good for Lazuli Bunting, Pygmy Nuthatch and Rufous-crowned Sparrow. Wear good hiking shoes and bring water. Indoor restrooms at the parking lot. We’ll cover about 2.5 miles.

This trip is free but advance registration is required. Registration will open two weeks before the trip and close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 5. Directions for registered participants are below.

Walk is limited to 25 participants plus the leaders. There will not be a waiting list.
Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.

Directions: Meet at the parking lot at 6800 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA, very close to where Skyline meets Grizzly Peak Blvd (Sibley Staging area).
