Meeker Slough and Hoffman Marsh (Richmond)

Walk up to 2.5 miles along the Bay Trail from Meeker Slough to dog park along tidal marshes to look for ducks, shorebirds, waders, passerines, raptors, and Ridgway Rail on a 4 to 2+ foot tide.  Bring binoculars.  Heavy rain cancels.  There are restrooms only at dog park but you go to Shimada Park before our walk if needed. This trip is free but advance registration is required. Registration will open two weeks before the trip and close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 9 Directions for registered participants are below.

Please note the public health guidelines for this trip, as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic:

  • Walk is limited to 15 participants plus the leaders. There will not be a waiting list.

  • Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.

Thank you for your flexibility in helping us ensure that everyone remains healthy! Because we have to limit the size of trips, please do not sign up unless you are committed to attending.


Directions:  We will park at the end of Bayside Dr in the Marina Bay Community. Take Marina Bay Parkway south off 580, pass Marina Park, and turn left on Bayside Dr. There are about 10 spaces but parking is available on street, so no problem.
