Jewel Lake (Berkeley)

Thursday, May 26, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

All shapes, sizes are welcome, though LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks are especially invited to this participatory field trip. We all benefit when anyone shares their observations, knowledge and enthusiasm!  Binoculars help, so let Rachel know in advance if you’d like a loaner pair. We’ll explore 1-2 miles on flat terrain from the parking lot to Jewel Lake. Restrooms and water available. For a good idea of species to expect, see the Ebird Bar Chart https://ebird.org/barchart?byr=2012&eyr=2022&bmo=5&emo=5&r=L503349

Please note the public health guidelines for this trip, as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic:

  • Walk is limited to 20 participants plus the leaders. There will not be a waiting list.

  • Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.

Thank you for your flexibility in helping us ensure that everyone remains healthy! Because we have to limit the size of trips, please do not sign up unless you are committed to attending.

Directions: Meet at the Tilden Nature Area parking lot in front of the Environmental Education Center/Little Farm. Reach out to Rachel if you need help getting there.
