Hilltop Lake Park (Richmond)
Wednesday, August 24, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Join me for an easy, flat stroll (about a mile) around Hilltop Lake in Richmond to look for seasonal (e.g. Hooded Orioles) and resident passerines, woodpeckers, raptors and more. Freshwater pond surrounded by willows, cattails, and native and ornamental trees and shrubs. The trail is paved and there are cement block benches in 2 places. We’ve seen lots of breeding and nesting activity the last 2 times. Check out eBird bar chart for this location at https://ebird.org/barchart?byr=2012&eyr=2022&bmo=8&emo=8&r=L597003
Please bring binoculars. There is no bathroom at this park; you can try the Chevron station at Richmond Parkway and Blume (just off freeway) or the Starbucks on Richmond Parkway and Atlas Rd. Rain cancels.
