Hayward Shoreline Bike and Bird (Hayward)
Saturday, August 6, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
It’s still early for ducks, but come look for young Stilts, Avocets and maybe Snowy Plovers, returning shorebirds in alternate (breeding) plumage, raptors and a few passerines on this shoreline ride. We will ride north from Hayward Regional Shoreline Center to San Lorenzo Creek or farther, depending on how much we see, for at least 10 miles round trip. The Bay Trail at this ride start is unpaved, so be comfortable on a packed dirt trail for this ride.
Bring binoculars, snacks, lunch and water; we won’t pass places to buy. Bicycle helmets required. Rain or smoke cancels.
Please note the public health guidelines for this trip, as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic:
- Trip is limited to 8 participants (plus the leaders) DUE TO HEAVY USE OF THIS TRAIL. There will not be a waiting list.
- This birding ride is co-listed with Grizzly Peak Cyclists (GPC). Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Agreeing to the GGAS liability waiver is also agreeing to the Grizzly Peak Cyclists waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.
