Coyote Creek Lagoon (Fremont)
September 25 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Part of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay NWR, Coyote Creek Lagoon and Coyote Creek are waterbird heaven. We will experience waterfowl, shorebirds, herons, rails and raptors. If we are lucky, we will see Bald Eagles and/or Golden Eagles. We will walk 3.0 miles (1.5 miles out and back) along the flat, compacted-gravel Coyote Creek Lagoon Trail. There are benches at several points along the route. Bring binoculars, water, sunscreen and hat. Bring scopes if you have them. Bring spare binoculars, if you are willing to lend them. The trail has no restroom. Plan to visit your favorite Starbuck’s/McDonald’s/Service-station restroom before/after the field trip. Beginners and advanced birders alike are encouraged to join us, to give us all a rewarding experience.
This trip is free but advance registration is required. Registration will open two weeks before the trip and close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23. Directions for registered participants are below.
Please note the public health guidelines for this trip, as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic:
- Walk is limited to 25 participants, plus the leaders. There will not be a waiting list.
Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.
Thank you for your flexibility in helping us ensure that everyone remains healthy!
