Arrowhead Marsh and Alameda Bike Ride: Bart to Bart

High Tide near 11:30. Winter high tides are a good time to see rails, and if there has been enough rain, lots of ducks and shorebirds in the seasonal wetlands.
Return will be to Fruitvale BART. Bring lunch and liquids, and dress in layers. All levels of birders welcome. Bicycle helmet required. Rain cancels. e-mail or call for mobile number.

This trip is free but advance registration is required. Registration will open two weeks before the trip and close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 31. Directions for registered participants are below.

Ride is limited to 12 participants, plus the leaders. There will not be a waiting list.
Participants must register online and acknowledge acceptance of our liability waiver. Each person must register separately. No “drop ins,” please.
Thank you for your flexibility in helping us ensure that everyone remains healthy! Because we have to limit the size of trips, please do not sign up unless you are committed to attending.
Directions: Meet at Fruitvale BART 9:10 am. We will ride on Fruitvale Ave to the estuary and go to Arrowhead Marsh in advance of the high tide. Riding on Doolittle Drive we’ll stop at the Shoreline Center. Then we will continue to Elsie Roemer to see the shorebirds forced up onto the beach near the viewing area.
