It is with a heavy heart that the Golden Gate Bird Alliance Board and staff have decided to cancel all local GGBA events through April. We will not be holding our monthly Speaker Series, field trips, habitat restoration events, or Birdathon events. Many of our classes will also be cancelled, with exceptions of classes that can be held through video meetings. If your class has been cancelled, please expect to receive a direct email from the class instructor or our Communications Manager, Melissa Ramos, regarding your class.

Our events and field trips are central to GGBA, but the COVID-19 pandemic has blindsided us all with the wide-scale danger it poses to our communities. In the interest of public safety, GGBA will abide by public health authority recommendations for cancelling all events in the near future, especially since many of our members are over 65 and part of the population at most risk from this illness.

We are deeply disappointed that we cannot carry on as normal for the time being.

Due to the fluidity of the situation, GGBA will continue to evaluate when it is safe to hold events. Please check back with us at the end of April to see if the situation has changed.

Please note our office is also closed to the public until further notice.

In the meantime, please take care. Stay in good health. Follow us on social media to get a daily “fix” of bird news and photos, even if you’re stuck at home. We’ll miss seeing you in the field, and hope you can take some solace and joy from your backyard and neighborhood birds during this stressful time.

For a refund of your Birdathon donation, please contact our Office Manager, Meshay Turner, mturner@goldengatebirdalliance.org. You can also contact Meshay Mondays through Thursdays at 510.843.2222 or at 925.826.8713.
